How do I check a keyword's heat on Douyin and Xiaohongshu before advertising? (2026)
2 official indexes answer it: on Douyin, the trend index (巨量算数); on Xiaohongshu, the search index in PGY (蒲公英). Both can be looked up by hand on their own sites. For dozens of keywords or a regular check, DataXAPI reads both on one key, at $0.0060 for up to 5 Douyin keywords and $0.0400 for one Xiaohongshu keyword. DataXAPI reads Douyin with 36 endpoints, from $0.0020 a call; a failed call is not charged.

What to read, and what it tells you
Both figures are scores the platform works out, not numbers of searches. The two platforms score separately, so compare a keyword over time or against others on the same platform, not Douyin against Xiaohongshu.

Good to know
Douyin's figures usually come a day or two late. Its related words come by the week. A word the index does not cover is left out of the answer. On Xiaohongshu the three-month range is set by the platform and cannot be chosen.
