Changelog

What changed, and whether you need to do anything: 5 entries so far, 207 endpoints on 21 platforms today, from $0.0003 a call. Stable parts only grow, so a call you make today keeps working.

The new DataXAPI: one interface for every platform

The whole API was replaced in one release. Every endpoint now takes the same parameter names, answers in the same envelope and reports errors in the same structure, on every platform. Accounts, balances and keys were carried over: a key made before the release keeps working. The four entries below say what changed for code that was already calling. Start from the quickstart.

Endpoints

Paths and methods changed: 233 old endpoint paths

A path is now the endpoint ID with the dots turned into slashes, and a read is a GET with query parameters; only a request with ids or keywords is a POST. Of the 233 old paths, 201 have an endpoint that took over and 32 were retired (the list, with what to use instead). Nothing is redirected, because parameters and fields changed with the path. A call to an old path that no longer exists gets 404 unknown_endpoint with reason (moved or retired), moved_to (the path to call now) and moved_to_docs (its page). The 23 old paths that are still paths answer an old-style POST with 400 invalid_params and the same three fields. Neither is charged.

For callers Change the path, the method and the parameters as moved_to_docs says.Change needed
Fields

One response shape, one error structure

Every answer is now the same envelope: code, request_id, data (item or items), page, warnings and meta, which carries what the call cost in meta.billing and the fields this endpoint cannot give in meta.unavailable. A post, a comment and an account have the same fields on every platform. Paging is by cursor only. Every error says charged and retry; the codes are on one page. The envelope is described in Requests and responses.

For callers Read fields from the new envelope; field names changed.Change needed
Prices

Prices are in US dollars, per call

Every endpoint has a price in US dollars, printed on its page and in the catalog before you call; amounts in answers are decimal strings in USD. Balances from before the release were converted to US dollars and carried over. Top-ups are final from this release on, the balance never expires, and a failed or uncertain call is not charged. The whole list is on the pricing page.

For callers Nothing to change in code; check the price of the endpoints you call.

MCP: five tools under new names

The MCP server now has five tools: find, describe, call, read_more and account. The old search_apis, describe_api and call_api are gone: a client that still calls one gets a tool error that names the new tool, and nothing runs or is charged. The old per-platform addresses still answer as the one endpoint does. Details in the MCP reference.
