What is a WeChat Official Account's original ID (gh_)?
The original ID is the fixed ID of a WeChat Official Account (公众号), starting with gh_, like gh_0123456789ab (made up). It is not the account's name; DataXAPI's account endpoints take it as id, and an article's author.id gives it. DataXAPI reads WeChat Official Accounts with 8 endpoints, from $0.0200 a call; a failed call is not charged.
Where you see it
In WeChat's own developer documents, the messages an account's server receives name the account in ToUserName, described as the developer's WeChat ID, and the examples give it as a gh_ value. Its owner sees it in the account's admin, under the registration details of the account settings, as a third-party setup guide describes it.
It is not the account's name, which can be the same for several accounts, nor the alias an account can set; an article's author.username carries the alias.
Which endpoints take or return it
wechat_mp.accounts.get takes it as id and returns the account's name, IP location, number of original articles and its linked WeChat Channels account (ext.channels_id). wechat_mp.accounts.articles.list takes it as id and returns the account's articles, newest first.
Knowing only the name: search with wechat.posts.search, which gives no account ID but gives an article's link, then get the article with wechat_mp.articles.get; its author.id is the original ID.
