Is there an API for WeChat Official Account articles?
Yes. With DataXAPI you read a WeChat Official Account (公众号) article by its link, list an account's articles by its original ID, and get an article's reads, likes and featured comments. DataXAPI reads WeChat Official Accounts with 6 endpoints, from $0.0200 a call; a failed call is not charged.
What you can read
The article detail takes a link and returns the title, the full text, the time and the account. The article list takes the account's original ID and returns titles, digests, links and times, newest first. The stats return reads, likes, recommends, shares, saves and comments; the comments endpoint returns the featured comments; the profile gives the account's name, IP location, number of original articles and its linked WeChat Channels (视频号) account.
All of it is public: what anyone sees when opening the article. No WeChat account, login or cookie of yours is used.
Links and IDs
The article detail and the comments take either the long link (with __biz, mid, idx and sn) or the short /s/ link; the stats take only the long one. The links in an account's article list are long links.
An article's author.id is the account's original ID, starting with gh_. So one article link is enough to reach the account's whole list.
What it takes
One article link, or the account's gh_ ID. Any public Official Account can be read this way, not only one you run: no WeChat account or login, no app to register and no review, and each call is paid on its own.
