Weibo data API: posts, comments and trending (2026)

Weibo Open Platform's read endpoints centre on the authorising user, and its comment endpoint returns that user's comments only; to search public posts and read any post's comments and likes, any account's posts and followers, and the hot search list, use a third-party data API. DataXAPI has 11 Weibo endpoints at $0.0020 a call. The free trial covers up to 333 calls; a failed call is not charged.

Does Weibo have an official API?

Yes. statuses/user_timeline returns the authorising user's posts and comments/show says it returns that user's comments only; topic search is marked an advanced endpoint needing approval and is no longer in the main list. An unreviewed app can authorise 15 test accounts, and more than the standard limits goes through the commercial API.

What do DataXAPI's Weibo endpoints return?

A post ID is digits; with only a link or share text, paste it into url, desktop or phone link alike. A user ID (uid) is the digits after weibo.com/u/.
