What does status 432 mean on Weibo? (2026)

432 is the HTTP status people report from Weibo's mobile API at m.weibo.cn, shown as 432 Client Error. We found no public explanation from Weibo; the author of weibo-crawler reads it as a limit for a while, or a cookie problem. With a data API you do not deal with it: a page of an account's posts is $0.0020, with no cookie of yours. DataXAPI reads Weibo with 11 endpoints, from $0.0020 a call; a failed call is not charged.

Why you run into it

It comes up when your own program reads m.weibo.cn/api/container/getIndex. weibo-crawler's issues hold many reports. In issue 565 the author says it is probably a limit for a while that usually lifts by itself. In issue 578 he thinks it is a cookie problem, and one user gets it even in a browser. Users report it both with and without a cookie, so no one cause explains all of them. How to get past it is not something we cover.

If you would rather not deal with it

Each job is one call at $0.0020: weibo.users.posts.list for an account's posts, about 20 a page, by its user ID; weibo.users.get for the account; weibo.posts.search for a keyword, about 10 a page; weibo.posts.comments.list for comments. No cookie or account of yours. 50 accounts checked once a day are 1,500 calls a month, $3. A long post is cut short in the list: use weibo.posts.get for the ones that matter. A failed call is not charged.

Endpoints

Each with its price; every page has the parameters, the fields and a recorded response.
