My Weibo scraper got blocked: what now? (2026)
2 routes need no scraper: Weibo's own business data API, for companies and partly paid, or a per-call data API such as weibo.posts.search, about 10 posts a page at $0.0020. On the second, weibo.posts.comments.list gives about 20 comments a page at the same price, with one key and no account or cookie of yours. DataXAPI reads Weibo with 11 endpoints, from $0.0020 a call; a failed call is not charged.

What Weibo itself offers
Its ordinary API list is built around a signed-in user: statuses/user_timeline reads the authorised user's own posts, and comments/show a post's comments. We saw no keyword search in that list.
Its business data API is described as for companies offering analysis, opinion monitoring and the like. Its REST list has search/statuses/limited for posts containing a keyword, search/statuses/historical/create for searching past data, and comments/show/all for all of a post's comments. It says part of it is paid; the pages we read on 2026-11-04 gave no price, and two of them were last updated in May 2025. The search below has no date parameter, so it does not give all of a past period.
Which endpoint does what your scraper did
Each call is $0.0020. With view=full, search and comments add ext.ip_location, and search adds ext.text_truncated, which says whether a post was cut short.
| Job | Endpoint | What comes back |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword search, newest first | weibo.posts.search | About 10 posts a page: text, author and followers, likes, comments, reposts, pictures, topics |
| A long post in full, with reads | weibo.posts.get | One post by ID or link; metrics.views is null on a post that shows no read count |
| Comments | weibo.posts.comments.list | About 20 a page: text, commenter, likes, replies, time |
| Replies under a comment | weibo.comments.replies.list | About 20 a page, by the comment's id |
| An account's posts | weibo.users.posts.list | About 20 a page, newest first, by its user ID |
| The hot search list | weibo.trends.list | 50 terms with rank and heat |
What a job comes to
On the command line: dataxapi call weibo.posts.comments.list url=POST_LINK --pages 5 --max-spend 0.01 --out comments.json. Or tell your AI: “Search Weibo for these words every hour and keep the new posts in a table.”
| Job | Calls | Comes to |
|---|---|---|
| 10 keywords once an hour, for a month | 7,200 × $0.0020 | $14.40 |
| 5 pages of comments under 50 posts: about 5,000 comments | 250 × $0.0020 | $0.50 |
| The hot search list once an hour, for a month | 720 × $0.0020 | $1.44 |
Good to know
Search takes only query: newest first, with no date or sort. To keep a record, run it on a schedule and store each post by its id. Long posts are cut short in search and in an account's list, and neither has read counts: use weibo.posts.get for the ones that matter. A cursor is good for an hour, and a failed call is not charged. It reads public data only and cannot post. How to keep a scraper from being blocked is not something this page covers.
Endpoints
Each with its price; every page has the parameters, the fields and a recorded response.
