Can ChatGPT read TikTok?
It can once DataXAPI is connected: add DataXAPI's MCP server to ChatGPT as a connector, and ChatGPT can search TikTok, read a video's counts and transcript, and go through its comments. DataXAPI reads TikTok with 18 endpoints, from $0.0020 a call; a failed call is not charged.
Connecting ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors, turn on developer mode under Advanced, and create a connector with DataXAPI's MCP address and OAuth as its authentication. ChatGPT then sends you to DataXAPI to sign in: choose which key it gets and its spending limit, and approve. No key is typed into ChatGPT.
Other AI clients
Claude takes the same address as a custom connector. For Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, dataxapi setup writes the entry for you; n8n and Cherry Studio take the address and your key by hand.
What it can do with TikTok
The server has five tools: find an endpoint, describe it, call it, read the rest of a long answer, and check your account. Ask in plain words, such as “get the comments under this TikTok video and sum up the complaints”, and the AI picks the endpoint and calls it.
Each call is charged to your balance like any other, and only public data is read.
