Usage notes

Good for

Use it when you know a TikTok username (the part after @) and need the public profile and scale.

Not for

Do not use it for private-account content, DMs, device, or signed-in data.

Known limitations

Usernames can change; store the returned user.id for long-term tracking.
Private accounts return only the basics the platform shows publicly.
Counts are point-in-time public snapshots, not live or historical trends.
Nested objects such as the author are returned as upstream sends them, minus tokens, account-binding flags, privacy settings, and tracking fields; avatar and media links inside them may expire.
