## Questions about E-commerce data

### How much does it cost?

$0.0020 a call on 4 endpoints; $0.0200 a call on 3 endpoints. You are charged when data comes back; a failed call costs nothing. No subscription, no monthly minimum.

### Do I need an account on the platform?

No. One DataXAPI key reads all 2 platforms. No platform account and no cookie.

### What if a platform does not have a field?

The field is left out of the item and named in `meta.unavailable` on every answer. It is never filled with a guess or a zero.

### Am I charged for an empty result?

On 5 of the 7 endpoints an empty result is charged as a call: the platform was read and had nothing to give. Each endpoint's page says which. Errors and timeouts are never charged.

### Which shops and markets are covered?

TikTok Shop in the United States, with prices in the currency each answer gives, and the shop of Xiaohongshu (RedNote), with prices in yuan. Both return the same Product and Review objects, so one piece of code reads both.

### Are the units sold exact?

`metrics.sold` is the count the platform shows. On Xiaohongshu, from ten thousand up the platform shows a rounded figure such as 11.4k+: it comes back as 11400, and the item's `approximate` marks it a lower bound. Exact counts carry no such mark.

### How many reviews can I read for a product?

The first page, in the platform's own order: 10 on TikTok Shop, up to 20 on Xiaohongshu. There is no next page. A reviewer's name is as the platform shows it and may be masked; on Xiaohongshu a review's time is only as the app words it, in `ext.date_shown`.

### Can I list everything a shop sells?

On TikTok Shop, yes: pass the seller's ID, the digits at the end of the shop's link or a product's `shop.id`, and page on, 20 products a page. Xiaohongshu's shop has no seller list here; its products are found by search.
