# MediaCrawler gets blocked on Xiaohongshu with status 461: what do I switch to? (2026)

461 is what Xiaohongshu returns when it stops a request; MediaCrawler's author says it generally means you were blocked, so a newer version may not fix it. For a few hundred notes for study, MediaCrawler is free and you can stay on it. To run on a schedule or inside a product, switch to a data API: no account, cookie or proxy, at $0.0200 a page of search. DataXAPI reads Xiaohongshu (RedNote) with 21 endpoints, from $0.0200 a call; a failed call is not charged.

## Which endpoint does what it did

Keyword search is `xiaohongshu.notes.search`. A given note is `xiaohongshu.notes.get`. Comments and second-level comments are `xiaohongshu.notes.comments.list` and `xiaohongshu.comments.replies.list`. A creator's page is `xiaohongshu.users.get` and `xiaohongshu.users.notes.list`.
