# GummySearch shuts down on December 1: what do I use for Reddit research? (2026)

GummySearch stopped taking new users on 2025-11-30 and says it shuts down entirely on 2026-12-01, deleting all user data, so export yours first. To go on, you can read Reddit's public posts and comments with DataXAPI and have your own AI do the analysis, from $0.0020 a call. DataXAPI reads Reddit with 11 endpoints, from $0.0020 a call; a failed call is not charged.

## Why it closed

Its founder says GummySearch relied on Reddit's Data API, tried to get a commercial licence and could not reach an agreement, so it closed rather than run without one. That is GummySearch's account of its own case.
